Sarah & Nick ~ Engaged!

A few weeks ago we had the honor of taking photos for a couple of our best friends, Sarah and Nick! Sarah was one of our bridesmaids in our wedding back in November, and we were thrilled we could finally do something for her after all the help and time she put in for us.  We had so much fun taking these photos.... we decided to not only have a photo shoot, but to have a double date too! We started the day off at Rochester's Municipal Park, followed by Meadowbrook House and Gardens. The wishing well on site was perfect for a few romantic fairytale photos. Afterwards, we grabbed dinner and went to play some Mini Golf... we brought our cameras to catch some special photos since Mini Golf was Sarah and Nick's first date =)
You can tell, just by looking at their photos, how in love they are and how much fun these two are to be around. We cannot wait to share and celebrate Sarah and Nick's special day with them!

The Statesmen vs. Celebrity Basketball Game

April 1st was a huge event! The Statesmen vs. Celebrity Basketball Game at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. The Statesmen are the World Campaign Dwarf Basketball Team and they sure know how to get the crowd going! The event was organized by BizMatchConnect and raised money for orphan dwarf children to help find loving homes.  More information about CoDa, who's board members include Martin Klebba and Matt Roloff, can be found here: dwarfadvocates.com

As for the game, The Statesmen won 75-72!  Colin, you did a great job setting everything up for this fun game, and thank you for asking Lakewind Photography to be a part of it! Keep an eye on facebook for more photos from this event!

 

Boy Scouts of America - Wild Game Dinner

On March 23rd we got our chance to shoot our "first event," the Boy Scouts of America's Wild Game Dinner.  This is a yearly fundraiser with great food, fun auctions, and hundreds of people. This year about 600 tickets were sold and thousands of dollars were raised for the Great Lakes Council Boy Scouts!  The Best Western Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights, MI was packed... for a great cause! Happy 1st Birthday, Charlie!

This past weekend was Charlie's 1st birthday! Charlie is our good friend's daughter, and boy, is she a cutie! In between the good company and a ton of good food, we were able to snap a couple of adorable photos of the birthday girl. (Does she have the prettiest eyes, or what?!) Happy Birthday, Charlie! Hope you enjoyed your party... we did!! :)

Baby Bradyn

There is so much we can say about adorable baby Bradyn! He is such a sweet baby and a blessing to the family. About ten years ago my beautiful cousin Karen was told she couldn't have children, so we were all shocked and thrilled when she became pregnant! Bradyn was born February 29th, 2012. He is a reminder that miracles do happen and although life may be a struggle at times, there is always a happily ever after at the end. Karen, we are so happy for you and Rob and we love little Bradyn. <3 Thank you for letting us spend a few hours capturing this wonderful family moment.

Amanda & Chris ~ Engaged!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day outside... a little taste of Spring... and the perfect day for our first official engagement photo shoot! Amanda and Chris are good friends of ours and we were thrilled when they asked us to take their engagement and Save the Date photos. The four of us packed up and, along with Amanda's maid of honor, Brittany, took a drive to Cherry Hill Village in Canton, MI.  It is the cutest little community with a wonderful historical center including Cady Boyer Barn. This was a perfect location considering that Amanda is a country girl at heart! The five of us had a blast and shared lots of laughs... You can tell these two were made for each other! Amanda & Chris, thank you for giving us this opportunity and we cannot wait until your wedding!!
